Why does she never initiate the conversation?

Being a girl, She probably likes it when guys initiate the texting, because other wise She may feel like she's being clingy or desperate or bothering you. If she's talking to you for 3+ hours, she must like talking to you. I wouldn't worry about it, and just keep texting her first for a while until she's comfy with initiating the texts. :)
