What is with this white god white jesus thing?

I'm not that religious and I'm open to different theories but... this white God and Jesus thing is getting on my nerves. What's the deal with that? Wasn't Jesus middle eastern? He probably looked similiar to Osama bin laden with tan brownish skin... (how ironic, many people would probably never accept this more logical theory) why and how in world did he magically turn white? And God is portrayed as an old white man with a long gray beard. What is the reason for this? Its very annoying. Who even said that God is even old? Is it hard for white people and other races to accept the fact that Jesus and God's image is most likely not a white man? And if so, why? That's just plain.....sad.
