Wheel bearings and a transmission are not typically items checked in a safety inspection. You bought the car "as is", and depended on the seller to tell you what was wrong with the car? How many cars do you think they'd sell that way? You are walking around blind without a cane. It was YOUR responsibility to inspect the vehicle and determine its condition BEFORE buying it.
