I don't get this anime...?

So I have been watching Higurashi no Naku Koro ni,and it shows after he kills Rena and Mion,he claws his throat open,and then just magically wakes up and is alive,and Rena-chan isn't evil anymore...and then when the camera guy dies,it shows and he's alive again...can someone please explain this anime to me?
