Does the North Pole Melting away with the Glaciers in Alaska count as a Political "Watermelon Scam"?

Does the Ozone Layer going from 21 inches in 1970 to 16 inches in 2000 not affect us as well as all of the Nuclear Waste floating around from testing and Bad Reactors made and designed by GE in say, Japan? Or is this all a scam and we shouldn't worry about our Children?
